Objects of Desire: Surrealism and Design 1924 – Today

With examples that range from Marcel Duchamp’s ready-mades and Dalí’s sensual object sculptures to works by designers like Carlo Mollino or Gae Aulenti and current designs that analyse new technologies and gender roles in subversive ways.

Objects of Desire foregrounds designers who have considered, in their work, the significance of reality beyond the visible, to design objects that offer resistance, undermine routine, and disrupt the quotidian.
